Rather than having a narration in my music promotion video I am going to take a series of diverse clips and edit them together, taking inspiration from artists such as: Lana del rey, Marina and the diamonds and Sky Ferreira.
First scene:
There will be a teenage girl sitting in her bedroom at a dressing table, applying makeup and holding blonde hair extensions to her brunette hair. My ultimate goal is to represent the lyrics 'I wanna be a bottle blonde' and 'I wanna be a real fake' however I think that I will be able to capture interesting camera angles through the mirrors reflections which will give my video interesting visual impact. Another possible idea is to include fabric, my prom dress, to fit with the lyrics 'wish I'd been a prom queen fighting for the title' and also a lipstick print on the mirror.
As for editing I am definitely going to take inspiration from the video 'Lana del rey - Burning desire' and show two diverse clips in the same frame which are entirely opposite.
Second scene:
Walking through the woods and simply lying in a field; I am debating whether or not to pose the teenage girl featured as if she is drinking alcohol and smoking whilst lying in the grass to emphasise the title of the song - 'Teen idle'.
Third scene:
I've decided to shoot a handful of scenes at the beach as ultimitaley, the surrondings are visually appealing. I have taken inspiration from 'Lana del rey' videos as she has proven that the location where particular scenes are shot is what make the video succesful.
Fourth scene:
I am shooting my model looking out of a car window whilst it is raining. I believe that it adds mood and depth to my music video and captures how the artist of the song was trying to express how she often felt as if she'd missed opportunities, thus was reflecting back on this things she could have done. I believe that incorporating pathetic fallacy would definitely portray these emotions.
