Reflection of AS coursework

At AS level I created a music magazine which was aimed at teenagers who listened to the pop-punk/rock genre. I created three pages: front page, contents, and double page spread.

This experience broadened my knowledge on magazine conventions and also allowed me to develop my Photoshop skills. When taking photographs for my magazine I used a professional studio, therefore becoming familiarised with the equipment and learning how to use it properly. During this project I researched an array of diverse music magazine's in order to create my own with the best possible knowledge, thus making it successful. After I compared my first preliminary task to my finished product it educated me on just how beneficial research is to make my coursework successful, an aspect I will always take into consideration during A2.

Overall I was rather proud of the three pages once completed, after comaping 'RECKLESS' to my preliminary task it was apparent that I'd learnt a lot from researching diverse magazines and made aware of typical conventions. If I could have done anything differently it would definitely be the front covers main image as my model's face appears out of focus. In A2 I am going to ensure that all of my photographs are in focus and have interesting visual impact to ensure that my work will be succesful.
